Basic Literacy: ABC Class for Adults!
– Teaching 30 asylees/immigrants originally from Sudan and Somalia (plus one adorable Syrian woman)
– Speaking, reading, writing basic English
Side Note: I had never known this population existed in Jordan – a small but significant group – 700ish asylees from Sudan / Somalia that live in Amman now. They get very few services or attention because Jordan has other refugee crises that dominate those numbers (re: Palestinian/1.6million, Syria/200,000 – Iraqi/40,000+)
