About Me!

So, who am I?

and what will I be doing this year?

1) I am a Fulbright Scholar in Jordan from August 2012 to June 2013. I love Jordan – in fact, I studied abroad there in 2010 – and I am so excited to be back in my second home.

2) This year, I will be an English Teacher at Petra University. I love teaching. (one of the highlights of my summer has been my work as an SAT Prep Teacher for students in Lowell, MA) and I love cultural exchange. I am so excited to combine the two this year… plus get a chance to learn the real Jordan through the eyes of the youth.

“The destiny of any nation, at any given time, depends on the opinions of its young men, under twenty-five.”  I’d agree with this line by Goethe (save the *and women* note that is missing) and I can’t wait to be seeing Jordan through the eyes of university students.

3) In my additional time, I will volunteer with local refugee populations. Jordan is overflowing with refugees- Palestinian, Iraqi, Syrian- and there is countless need. After many work and personal experiences, I’ve identified my passion for a humanitarian career; I am at my happiest when working for and with vulnerable populations. I can’t wait to jump into a new experience in the field.
